Life is a lesson.

In this earthly life, we take various roles. Some are fortunate enough to learn the mysteries of the universe. They can then share their knowledge and use their abilities to help other people. These people are the healers and the gurus.

While the healers and the gurus have much to teach people, they still have much to learn. We incarnate because we still have lessons to learn and karma to balance. Yes, we can do much good with the power that we gain. However, with great power comes great responsibility, as Superman knows. Healers and gurus have the responsibility to remain humble.

Humility is ‘the modest view of one’s importance’. Humility for the healer is the awareness that the energy that flows through the hand is not their energy. It is the energy of the cosmos and they are merely the vessel. Humility in the guru is the awareness that the knowledge they share does not originate from them. It’s the knowledge that has been disseminated for eons – either through word of mouth, or through texts both well-known and obscure. That they can bring the ancient wisdom to the people of the modern world is a service for sure. However, it is a service and not a triumph of the ego.

But what does all this mean, in practical terms? It means simply this: The healer should cleanse their own aura regularly, meditate regularly, and should be open to learning new methods of healing. The healer must acknowledge that they fall ill too, that they are not invincible. The guru should be humble and open to different points of view, no matter how knowledgeable they are. The guru should see themselves as only the vessel of God, and not God itself. The guru must share his fallibility with the people.

Let’s use our capabilities to help each other ascend through our various incarnations on planet earth. While we do that, let’s remember to strive to be better, to learn, to seek.
